Hot on the heels of other successful Asian contemporaries like Anne Watanabe and Ai Tominaga, comes this 24-year old Tokyo native. Tao Okamoto in undoubtedly one of today’s hottest Japanese fashion models, with razor-sharp cheekbones, effortless elegance and not forgetting her signature hairstyle that inspired Phillip Lim’s fall 2009’s runway look.
Okamoto made her debut in a spring summer 2006 Emmanuel Ungaro show in Paris. Other milestones in her career include opening and closing shows for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Antonio Berardi and Vera Wang. She’s also fronted campaigns for Zac Posen and Ralph Lauren as well as made appearances on the covers of Japan, American and French Vogue. Tao will be opening for the Missoni A/W 2011 show at the Audi Fashion Festival 2011.
